Photography Mentorship
Sound Sorcery’s Official Photography is a mentorship opportunity for women and gender diverse photographers to gain experience shooting in a live music setting. Photographers are mentored through camera and lighting techniques to push live music photography beyond the constricting bounds of the male gaze. Over the course of the season they learn to capture the magick of Sound Sorcery through their own unique eye.

In 2024 international student and filmmaker, Adviteeya Khujneri, photographed all eight events. Former Getty Images Assignment Editor, Geetha Balakrishnan, provided ongoing feedback, offering a valuable training opportunity in live music photography.
In 2025, independent artist/performer, Megan Holloway, was mentored by professional event photographer Peter Darnley-Stuart in live music photography. Megan expanded on their experience in capturing the beauty of queer nightlife acquiring SLR techniques and developing their composition skills.
